(More customer reviews)I bought this drive for use with a Thinkpad X201 tablet PC because being an ultra-portable device it does not have an optical drive bay.
Lenovo suggests the X200 docking bay with its X series notebooks and tablet PC, but together with the DVD drive that goes with that bay that is an additional $350. Since I was not interested in the port replicator function in the X200 UltraBay but did not want to spend $150 on the external DVD drive for Thinkpad's I chose this drive instead. At $65 it saved me a lot of money. The drive works beautifully, as it should, and I used it to install all software on the X201 tablet PC. I recommend this drive anyone considering it for purchase.
Since I now own this external USB DVD drive I have also bought the Acer Aspire One 533 netbook for my wife, also without any optical drive, which will be sharing this drive now.
