Sorry the video is choppy, but I thought it would help having a visual.

If you know how limited this item's capabilities are prior to buying it,
you should be OK.
You can play movie YouTube, movie you bought from iTunes and project type via certain apps.
Sadly, NetFlix did not work.
If you were hoping you could see all things iPad on a computer monitor or TV, you will be bummed.
I was sadly disappointed. I will still be doing presentations on my MacBook I guess :-)
The output looks nice, but it is not as nice as the visuals actually look on the iPad itself.
