(More customer reviews)I initially purchased this item to cover the back, top and sides, it decently protects those areas, has great grip and is easy to find in "signal red" among a sea of black, grey and white iPad covers. In fact, the shell is so seamless that bystanders believed I had a red iPad.
Yet, despite these great attributes, be forewarned.
1) If you intend to snap-on this back cover and have no intentions of "ever" taking it off, it's a a little expensive for cheap, thin plastic. As a result of the cheap, thin plastic, the one time you intend to take it off, you will never be able to snap it back on because it cracks on the bottom as you remove it. I intended to remove it so that I could clean it and/or put the iPad in a folio case that had a tight fit.
2) This product will provide protection from scratches. Will not protect the iPad from drops or major bumps.
3) Mine did not come with a clear cover as advertised.
