(More customer reviews)Okay, so I'll say this up front. This sleeve is perfectly functional, and for under $15, it's not a bad, but if you're looking for something high-quality, this isn't it.
The case is only padded on one side (presumably the side you'd put the screen towards.) so this case is not in any way designed to protect your iPad from being dropped. The foam is thicker than what you typically see in neoprene sleeves, but it's not a fabric-based foam, but a plastic based foam, more like you would see in shipping boxes.... Which means that it's designed for short term abuse, not long-term wear and tear. If you're not particularly hard on your cases, it's probably good enough. The foam is also not sewn into the case, but is held in place by s strip of material at the mouth of the case, so if the foam starts to break down, you really cant continue using the sleeve without buying new foam.
The unpadded side of the case appears to have some stiff cloth or paper inside the lining, so there is a slight crumpling sound when the side is bent or moved. It's not in and of itself a big deal, but I cant figure out what the purpose for it is.
The case itself appears to be sewn well, with the exception of the pockets on the unpadded side. The mouths of the pockets are cut straight into the neoprene, with no trim or hemming done to them. Neoprene typically doesn't fray much, but I will point out that fresh out of the box, there were already a few stray threads around the two pockets. I imagine that extensive use of these pockets might cause more problems with the untrimmed pocket openings.All that said, the iPad does fit snugly into the sleeve, and the zipper's teeth are plastic, which reduces the chance of your iPad getting scratched when putting it in or taking it out of the case. If you're looking for an inexpensive case to keep your iPad from getting scratched when you're toting it around, this case will probably work. If your looking for more protection from drops or other impact, you probably want to look at a higher end case.
