(More customer reviews)I bought the Prop it up for both my iPad and my HP Tm2 tablet laptop. The Prop it up works really well for getting my tablet into a slanted position that's actually high enough to get rid of the bad viewing angles of the TM2. I've been looking for a stand that could do this for some time and this fits the bill.
The stand is very well made. Like another review said, it looks handmade but it also looks very professionally made. The surface is made of a hard plastic that I found a bit to slippery. I spoke with the owner and he mentioned there were felt circles in the box to take care of this. I needed to little more modifying for my laptop to keep it steady, but other wise, for the iPad (with the felt in place) its perfect. I used the non slip carpet padding to keep my laptop from slipping off. If I was laying on the sofa and I leaned a little to much, my laptop would slide right off. That was the only mode I did to accomodate my laptop. Again for the iPad, whats included is all you need.
My laptop weighs close to five pounds and I found the prop it up could support its weight just find. There are real metal rollers that the really durable plastic fits between. As you prop it up you just move it to the next roller. I felt good about the rollers being metal and the plastic is very strong and supports my laptop and ipad with ease.
The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because of the materials. The Prop it up is made of thick foam and covered with a black vinyl. While that in itself isn't my issue, its that while its on my lap it really starts to get warm. Maybe in future versions a more breathable fabric could be used. As it is now, I bought a cheap plastic cutting board to slide between it and my lap. Yes, my lap was getting that warm. In the winter that could be a nice bonus, but in summer, its a tad warm at times.
The padding again is very thick, that means this is very protective for your iPad. It has a nice handle and that makes it quite portable for car trips providing you aren't the one driving.
As for my laptop, I find it very comfortable to type on now. I have all these great adjustments and every angle I could want. I can prop my laptop up in tablet mode and draw or paint and its great. Just what I had been looking for.
So yes, its a little pricey, but if you need this for a tablet pc or an iPad, I think its worth the money.
