Uses the car's battery instead of the computer battery so you don't have to immediately run to a wall outlet to charge your computer to make it work. Great for traveling for all, whether to do work on the laptop, play games or movies, etc. Wish the devise was a little smaller for storing in the laptop case as it fits inside the pocket meant for the CD's but not a big deal. Would buy it again.
