(More customer reviews)I have tried and returned a dozen or more iPad cases (thanks Amazon!). I have been looking for high protection in a case that can go into a small shoulder bag for plane trips and about town. I pretty much concluded I would have to purchase a hard case and then a softer one that would go over it to get sufficient protection from the bumps and squeezes of luggage on the road. This case provides high bump, squeeze, and cosmetic protection when paired with that ugly but efficient case Apple sells. The iPad in the Apple case will fit into this one tightly at first, but the Speck case stretches after a couple of days. The outer Speck case looks cool and its foam construction matches well the more right construction of the Apple case inside it. I carry this in either an Incase 15" MacBook case or a Patagonia messenger bag (of which the Daily Grind works best). If you use the Patagonia Daily Grind bag, you can carry the iPad, a iPhone, cables, and a change of clothing for 1-2 nights in a setup that is less than about 10-12 pounds and fits under a passenger class seat. The iPad will be well protected by the Speck + Apple cases. I am now purchasing a 2nd one of these sleeves to keep in my Daily Grind bag, and will use the 2nd one for cables/adaptors, small office supplies, and other useful small stuff for life on the road. Note that TSA has allowed me to scan the combination Speck-Apple cases on the iPad without removing either 8 times in the last few weeks and has never asked me to remove either for scanning or inspection.
